Hello,

I Received External Hard Drive Seagate (SN: NA98KH51 ) from a client having issue about his Laptop cannot read USB anymore

i took the USB and tried it on many devices but with no fix, Windows take too while to read ( Seagate BUP slim Usb Device) and after it finishes, ( X ) symbol appears on ( USB Mass Storage )

Every Laptop or PC have the same problem

i hope any of these information can help you locate the problem:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-At first i can see it in Disk Management as unallocated space but my client's request to not format as the information on the usb is very important for his work ..
but if i unplug device and plug itagain, Disk Management failed to read it and a message appears ( This device can perform faster - This USB Mass Storage Device can transfer information faster if you connect it to a Super-Speed USB 3.0 port'.)

-The External Hard drive doesn't flash or hard vibration

-The client said the device was working fine till yesterday, device didn't fall from him nor he did store files recently

if there's any information to help this case please don't hesitate to ask me
I really appreciate any help you can provide, thank you.

Solution
We are sorry to hear you're having trouble with this drive! You've followed one of the important first steps of troubleshooting by trying the drive in different systems. Another one is to try the drive with a different cable, have you attempted this? We have seen issues with disappearing drives due to a bad USB cable for external drives or SATA cable for internal ones.

You could also get in touch directly with Seagate Support by going here, or if the drive may be under warranty and you'd like to look into that further, you can do so with our Warranty Validation tool.
