As seen by my post history I've had many issues with this PC most recently being 3 weeks ago. I solved this issue by underclocking my CPU by 0.1 volts as the vCore was too high (wasn't overclocking in the first place). Now the issue has returned and I can't seem to shake it.

So far only one dump (full kernel dump) has been recorded. I've logged the hardware and checked the event viewer but cannot find anything suspicious.

Any one got any ideas?

cannot really tell you how easy re-seating a cpu is, because you have not posted any details of your system, cpu/ram/mobo/psu/etc/etc.

generally it should take less than 20minutes but longer if it is your first time (and i would suggest never rushing these things). Instructions on how to reseat a cpu is basically following the instructions of how to install a cpu on your mobo (in reverse to remove then follow to reseat). The instructions should be supplied with your mobo, or avail. online from your makers site.

make sure you give the socket a good blast of air to remove particles, and check that your cpu pins are nice and straight.

i suggested this because, if by some small chance, your pins arent connecting properly because of...

your mobo settings were fubar as standard, and changing them solved the issue briefly? or your cpu is fubar and changing voltage briefly sdolved it?- perhaps try re-seating cpu

have you updated bios? or checked to see if the bios version you are using has bugs/problems?
bios update

sometimes corrupt RAM can cause bsod from dodgy instruction handling and wont log.
Try running a RAM check program.

I cant check your post history. well, i dont want to start down the dark path.

The settings were on default but the vCore was very high, so I essentially under clocked it back to a normal amount to fix it.
Issues went from 10+ a day to none for 3 weeks and now its back.

How much effort is reseating the cpu, just as I dont want to commit to something that serious if I can help it.

BIOS is on latest stable release, had same issues using the beta BIOS.

These 2 sticks have passed 65+ passes of memtest with no errors, most recently being 2 weeks ago with 14 passes.

i suggested this because, if by some small chance, your pins arent connecting properly because of some foreign object (dust/hair/nail-clipping/food/etc), then the voltage would be something that would overcome the non-standard resistances from inperfect pin contact. - and then you having to manually over-ride the automatic settings.
