Upgrading from FX4300 to i3 4170.

A friend of mine is rocking a FX 4300 and a GTX 760, but he wants to play PUBG, so he's looking to upgrade his CPU, we found a used i3 4170 and a MSI H81M-P33 for 80euros. Is it worth the upgrade?

I'm running the game quite well myself, running a FX-6300 @ 4.0 gHz and a GTX 950. The game is running at 1080p and roughly 60fps, depends on the location (never dips below 45 except in the lobby).
Turns out he's down to spend more than i thought, so he'll be buying a i5 6500 and a new mobo and DDR4 RAM.
