Hello guys I have a question about my MSI 1080 ti gaming x. I am new to overclock.
I see there is option to use the card in OC, Gaming mode but totally noob and I can't find how tow switch on this option or it is manual overclock. Also am I eligible to overclock my card when I have H97 motherboard. I tried to use Afterburner but after I do some overclock my pc just freeze after few minutes and need restart.

My current PC :

mobo :Gigabyte H97 Gaming3
CPU : Intel I7-4790
RAM : adata 24 gb 1600 MHz
SSD : Samsung 850 evo
HDD :WD 1 tb
CPU FAN : deepcool mealstorm 240mm
PSU : EVGA 750 w G2

Thanks

Best Regards,

Samuil

On the web you can download MSI's gaming app, that will allow you, with the click of a mouse to select the mode you want. Or, you could download MSI's afterburner program and learn the fine art of tweaking settings on your own. Both options work, gaming app is more oriented towards newer users. Afterburner allows you full control of almost all settings on the card, within bios limits.

In MSI afterburner just increase the power target
and fan speed to max . Try benchmark software like unigine valley and increase core clock 25mhz each time and run it .if it produces any artifacts or crash ,reduce the clock speed. Do same for memory (increase 50mhz each time for memory )and find the stable core and memory clocks.thats it

Thank you for your help and suggestions I will try using this app and I will also try to overclock as "parani" told me so I can use the full potential of the card. Just last question , will my motherboard affect overclocking for my GPU or only will affect for CPU
