My Games' FPS is slow despite being a gaming laptop.

Hello! I just purchased a gaming laptop (Dell Inspiron 7559. 8 GB RAM, 960M 4 GB Video Card), hence, I have been getting myself a lot of the modern games. The thing is, I try my best to play my games at the in-game resolution of 1900~ x 1000~ of range, but not above 2000, with Medium to High settings.
But still, i'm getting around 30 FPS.
Like, I just purchased Warriors All-Stars. The in-game resolution was 1300~ x 1000~ something, with my settings at high. But in-game, my FPS during the gameplay was VERY low.
Why's that? Should I change my resolution or setting?

yeah, i agree with vapour. You have a decent laptop. It has an I7 6700hq which is a decent proc, but it'e let down a little by the 960m. By laptop standards its not bad, but the mobile variants of GPU's are under powered, and often cut down versions of the desktop counterparts (to save on energy usage).

The native resolution of your laptop is 1080p, and your GPU isn't capable of playing at that res due to having only 640 cuda cores, 80gbs of bandwidth, and relatively low clocks. The desktop model of the 960 has nearly twice as many cuda cores, an additional 40gbs of bandwidth and an extra few hundred MHZ of clockspeed.

You will need to adjust your in game settings to low or medium and turn off things like AA (anti-aliasing) and AF. This will help raise your FPS. But at the same time, try to keep in mind the GPU's limitations. You may expect a certain level of performance, but the card won't deliver it. You can also drop resolution to get more FPS too.

So like, I won't be able to play EVEN Warriors All-Stars at high settings? And if I upgrade my RAM to 16 GB, how much effect will it have on the overall performance?

little to none impact for gaming ...

It should play those types of games okay. On what settings you play will determine your FPS. There are some games the 960m will play great, but anything really modern you will need to reduce settings to get playable frames.

I was searching through the Steam Reviews of Warriors All-Stars, and one customer said that he was enjoying the game at high settings with full resolution, and his specs were lower/average to mine. Does that means something's wrong with my own laptop? I get that I have to lower my settings to enjoy the modern games, but i'm still confused about Warriors All-Stars.
