Mouse stops working after a few seconds/minutes

So, I bought a Mad Catz RAT 9 a couple of years ago. It´s been a great mouse, I love it. But a few weeks ago It stopped moving out of nowhere. All the buttons work, but It doesn´t move. The receptor doesn´t even blink when I move (It´s supposed to). I tried everything, opened the mouse, cleaned the lazer, switched USB ports, reinstalled drivers (the ones I had, since Mad Catz no longer exists and their downloads page is down), tried on different computers.
The weird thing is that if I leave the mouse for like a day and try again It starts working again for 1, 2 or even 5 minutes and then stops again.

Can anyone help me? I really love this mouse + I´ll only be able to buy another mouse 2-3 months from now, since they are really expensive where I live (Brazil) and I am currently on a budget.

Thanks!

Sounds like the laser might be going bad or you have a bad connection on the pc board where the laser is mounted.
If you're good with a soldering gun/pencil, then you can try and look for bad solder joints and touch them up, but, be careful not to get the solder on other connections!
Other then that, you could just get a cheap Microsoft optical mouse to carry you over till you can but that next awesome mose!
cheers.

Doesn´t seem like that´s the problem.. When it ran out of battery the whole mouse stopped working. It happens with both batteries.I disassembled and reassembled the charging station and nothing changed.. Is there any way I can check if that´s the problem?

Re-install your mouse's drivers from the official website.
If you can't uninstall it, go to device manager, find "mice and other pointing devices" - find your mouse and uninstall it.
Try plugging your mouse into different ports.
Try using a USB extension adapter, so your wireless port is near to your mouse.

Yeah, I read about another guy that re-soldered the laser and It worked, but I don´t have the tools for that, plus I never tried soldering a pc board. I´ll try to find someone that can help me with that to see if It works.

[update] I borrowed a cheap logitech mouse that my roommate wasn´t using, so I can, at least, use SolidWorks properly lol. Can´t get used to gaming on this thing tho haha.

Cheers!

I tried everything. The wireless receiver is right in front of the Mouse. The issue with the drivers are that apparently Mad Catz went bankrupt and their downloads page is down. I had 2 different versions of the driver, neither worked, nor the windows generic driver. Thanks for you help anyway!!
