Just got a new asus maximus ix hero and it works all good and proper for the most part but if I plug my razer kraken 7.1 v2 into my blackwidow chroma or any other usb extension cable I just get the message "usb device not recognized" from windows. Anything else works when plugged into the keyboard and the headset works if it's plugged directly into my PC. Anyone know why this may be?

Specs:
I7 7700k
GTX 1060
16 gb ddr4 2133 mhz ram
600 w from high power
1TB HDD and a 3TB HDD

Ok so if this is not something that was an issue with your old MOBO it probably is the fault of the MOBO, but still check to make sure, that all the prongs on the IO have not ESD'd your connector.

I would try and plugging in a different headset, if that works than it is the headset that's faulty, if it doesn't than check your USB for dust, or open your case and double check the front panel connectors at the bottom of the motherboard.

I tried my other headset and still no luck, the front panel connector is plugged in but the keyboard is plugged into the back of my computer.

Edit: I should also mention that I didn't have this problem with my old motherboard, an ASRock h110m-hdv
