I need to upgrade my old SSD to a new one, but I'm not sure if Microsoft will allow me to put in my same activation code or if it will think I'm trying to re-use my code on a new system. Can I simply add a new SSD, do a fresh install of Win 7 Pro 64-bit, then activate it with the code that was used on my original install? I want to keep Win 7 because I can't stand Win 10.
I cannot clone the current SSD because that install is severely damaged to the point that a re-install/ repair on the existing installation fails.
Here's my system:
Win 7 Pro 64 bit
i5-3570
8GB RAM
nVidia gtx 660ti
Asus Mobo
Intel 128GB SSD (upgrading to Samsung 250GB SSD)
Thanks!
