I am running into latency and lag issues in my new pc which I recently built a couple days ago. Even though my router is on the other end of my house, I was averaging a ping of about 90 - 110 on my old pc but now when i try to play a game like Battlefield 1 (the only game I currently have installed) I get a ping of 999 which is unplayable. I have a wifi extender but that dosen’t seem to help much at all. When I play a YouTube video in 720p it drops to 480p or 360p. My download speed is 4.39 Mbps and upload is 0.34 Mbps. Any suggestions on how to fix/improve this?

Solution
Assuming everything is ok up to your modem (provider, game server, etc.),
Wifi is the worst kind of networking connection you can find.
- Weak signal. Repeater will eat up your WLAN bandwidth by about half.
- Signal disturbances incl. if you are running on a overfilled channel.
- Speed is reduced by distance and hindrances.
- etc. etc.
I would try to make cable connection or try PowerLAN.
