I have an pretty fast PC with an SSD. When I first put it together I noticed that windows would start ridiculously fast - so fast in fact that the windows 7 startup swirly thing that you always see before the desktop appears would only ever get half way through the animation before the desktop screen replaced it.
Today I unplugged the SSD SATA 3 cable and plugged it back in. Evidently I hadn't plugged it back in the same SATA 3 port on the motherboard because when windows started up I got the 'installing new drivers' message for the SSD.
Now the windows 7 swirly startup logo always finishes the animation before the desktop appears, suggesting that the disk is somehow slower. I've tried putting it back in the original SATA 3 port but that didn't make any difference.
Any ideas?
Cheers
