So recently I bought an Alienware 15r3 (Laptop) with windows 10 (64x), an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060(6GVM,GDDR5) graphics card, Intel CORE i7-7700HQ ((2.80-3.80GHz)(Intel HD 630) processor, 16gb RAM using MSI afterburner I know the Nvidia GPU is being used by games yet I'm still running a low fps whereas I've installed all the drivers for it (through Geforce Experience), I even updated the Bios, I've been told to try an external display...but I have a laptop soo I want it to be a bleeding laptop, you know? Any Ideas?

Not sure where you looked, there are drivers from Dell for that model

e.g. Minecraft with nothing added to it and fancy up-rendered settings only run at an avg of 130 fps, whereas the fps should be at about an avg of 800-900 with shader mods and hd textures, and gtav on optimised settings (mostly very high no fxaa and msaa at x2) taking up about 4.5/6 gb vram runs at 20-40 fps am I overestimating it? Did I waste moneys?

You should be able to run at better speeds, run HWMonitor and check your CPU and GPU usage as well as temps. You are testing things on wall power right? Battery usually slows things down. Make sure you have your performance options set to full or high in the video card, BIOS and power settings.

It's plugged into wall my temp idles at about 44c and goes to 54c when gaming and power settings as far as I can change(bios doesn't seem to have any power options) are on preformance, and the gpu is definitely being used for games as it idles at about 120-300mhz and raises to 1400-2025mhz any clue what's going on?

Were you getting better results before you ran the updates on the system? In most cases, you want to use the video drivers from the laptop vendor not the chip vendor direcly.

I'm not sure as the first thing I did after I bought it was update the drivers, however if I wanted to go back to the drivers that came with the pc how would I go about it? Because theres bo drivers for the card on the dell site for the r15.
