Hey all! I currently have a Ryzen 5 1600, 16gb DDR4, and a 1050ti. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU in the next month and I'm hesitating purchasing a 1070. I plan on using the Ryzen 5 for at least the next two years and all other components will remain relatively unchanged. I don't want to spend more money then is needed without bottlenecking my PC. I'm afraid that if I buy the 1070 I won't get to utilize it very well. So will the Ryzen 5 bottleneck a 1070 and should I get a 1060 6gb, or is the 1070 a good match for my CPU. Thanks for any help in advance. Cheers!

You can even get the GTX 1080 and it will pair well with the Ryzen 1600 (esp. that prices of the 1070 may still be close to prices of the 1080, depending on your purchase location).

If you have or looking to get a 1080p/144Hz monitor (or a 1440p/100Hz+ monitor), I'd recommend the 1080. The 1070 is good for 1080p/100Hz+ or 1440p/60Hz~75Hz AAA gaming maxed settings.

Ok in that vein then will a 1080 still be good 2 years from now when I upgrade CPUs? If it can handle the 1070 then I think I can invest an extra $100 into the 1080 if it will pay off when I upgrade again. Cheers!
