Hi,
I am trying to build a cheap Ryzen system. I have made one that is $868.91, but that doesn't include monitor(s), and I definitely need new ones. I DO want a dual-monitor setup, but that will just raise the price even more. I currently have a 1080p Lenovo monitor at 75 hertz. I could use some cheap 4K monitors, but there's not really a such thing. Anyways, I need these things:
• At least 16GB of RAM
• A 256 or 512GB SSD for a boot drive (I can hopefully reuse my current copy of Windows 10 Pro)
• 2TB of additional space (Can be done with either a 2TB drive or 2 1TB drives, but I would prefer 2 1TB drives)

About the CPU and GPU, I really want something that can edit/render/record/stream at 1080p resolution or higher. I had a GTX 1060 and the Ryzen 5 1600 in my $868.91 build.

I want to be able to overclock the CPU to around 4.0 GHz. This means that I will need a motherboard that supports overclocking at that level. I will also need an adequate cooler to cool the CPU. I'd rather have air cooling than water cooling.

The one thing that I really don't care about is looks. I don't want RGB or any fancy colors. As long as it works, I'm fine.

About the case, I really want a simple case without anything fancy. I don't need anything like Qi Wireless Charging. I don't really want a side panel window, either.

One thing that I do kinda care about is cable management. I want it to look nice and not messy. A modular PSU could help with that, but that might be more expensive.

Storage is going to be an important thing. I only need an SSD for the boot drive. But, since I'm going to be doing streaming/recording, I will need space for that. I also need space for virtual machines.

I don't really have any experience with things like overclocking. I can use some online guides to help me there.

As long as the PSU supplies enough power, I don't care about that. As long as the motherboard supports overclocking, I don't really care about that either. My budget is as low as possible. Thanks!

I don't exactly know how you managed to fit all the things you wanted into that $868.91 without cutting something.

This system would support everything you wanted but it does cost quite a bit more.

Here's the $868.91 build. It is $914.60 with a second hard drive. I also forgot the cooler, as I planned to use the stock one. With the cooler and second hard drive, it's $934.59

Thanks for the help anyways.

Here are two changes I'd suggest that save money and improve the system. The faster RAM is better and a higher wattage PSU gives more room for growth. Both these changes are cheaper than the one you listed.

Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($139.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic - S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Also, if you want to overclock the CPU then you can't go to cheap on the mobo. Spend more money there, unless you want stock speeds.

Oh that explains it. overclocking to anything with that motherboard isn't really gonna happen.
If you want to overclock then you'd need at least something like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dWL7YJ/asrock-ab350m-pro4-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-ab350m-pro4
Even with that, just booting to 4GHz is basically a miracle.

I did some research and decided to go with the MSI - B350 GAMING PRO CARBON ATX AM4 Motherboard. This is expensive, but it apparently is decent for overclocking. Here's the list now: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fcVyYr

For it's price you might as well get the X370 Fatal1ty i listed since it's a X370 chipset board that overclocks better and has more features.

Yeah that mobo is a good overclocker. Good chipset size cover and VRM heatsink. I'd back down the price a bit and up the case to the Fractal Focus G. Also the Cryorig cooler is slightly better. How about this:

Change 1 - if you want 2 TB of storage, just get a 2 TB HDD rather than 2 1 TB HDD's, it's cheaper that way.

Change 2 - for your uses, the GTX 1060 is overkill. Unless the editing and rendering you do is GPU-accelerated or uses GPU-intensive effects, the GTX 1050 is all that you need for the machine.

And why is a platinum rated psu needed?
also, why get a b350 board when you can get a better x370 one for the same price?
