Hello Gurus,

I am in need of upgrading, I have around 2200.00 cdn to work with, not knowing alot, I would like to see if you guys could come up with a good build that will stay cool and have a GTX 1080Ti. if I have to spend a bit more I will do what I can to make it work.

Also if you could give your thoughts on a good Ultrawide Monitor, i have 1k put aside for that.

Thanks so much guys!
Griffy

You can look at the $1500 and $2000 builds that have left the voting phase here on Tom's System Builder Contest, and is awaiting all winners to check in, for ideas on what to build. These particular builds can be switch to CDN $ easily enough in the top right hand corner after following the links to pcpartpicker.com on the builds you are interested in, and you can then also select your preferred (if any) supplier by going to add or update items.

Just note, as already stated, Coffee Lake is coming out Oct 5, so it might be worth holding off on the final BOM (Bill Of Materials aka parts list) for your new PC. (I also chose those price ranges to allow for currency differences, and the possibility you might need to add peripherals and an OS.)

If it was further out, it would have come down to if your current rig would do the job until then... and a avoiding the "latest and greatest" wait-loop due to how often new parts do come out. but... with about a week to go... waiting isn't such as issue. You'll know in about a week if the wait was a good move for certain or just a short delay.

Good computer shopping to you.

Yeah, you might. Primarily with AMD though, Intel has rarely, if ever, adjusted the pricing on older models when they release the new ones.
