i can offer you the "fred flintstone" shortcut way
download intel's "Extreme Tuning Utility" -
once you've downloaded it and gotten familiar with the various screens settings, do a benchmark test -
when thru, the utility will ask you if you want to upload your results to compare to others - let it upload
then once there, you can narrow down the selection of motherboards and CPUs you're comparing your benchmark to, to your mobo & cpu combo - once you've done that
as you move your cursor over other's point on the graph, it will show you that user's settings' compatibility to your computer (ie 86% compatibile, or 94% compatible, etc) and show you that user's clock speed - and you can download and install those settings (link on the right hand side of the page). Generally 92% and above, i'll try that user's settings
after downloading and loading another user's settings, run a benchmark to see what happens to your score
once nice thing about the utility, it will allow you to make changes to your BIOS from within windows
