So, I started building a mid-budget gaming computer, and it is not booting up. I have created a list of the basic parts (CPU, RAM, PSU, motherboard) I put into it at pcpartpicker, which I will link here: link. Now, on to the issues I am having.

When I first pressed the power button, the fans spun and the lights glowed for about a half second before switching off. I then took everything apart and hooked it together on a wooden surface outside the case. I did not connect a video cable. This time, the lights and fans stayed on, and it showed all signs of life (or as close to it as a computer can get). So, I carefully put everything back together. When I plugged it into the monitor, there was no video, and the monitor went into power saving mode. I tried several cables and monitors, and I even went so far as to plug it into my living room tv. All to no avail.

I should note also that when I plugged my keyboard into the usb port on the back of the motherboard that it did not seem to have any power. No caps lock light or num lock light.

Please help me. I am completely lost.

I don't think the issue is the PSU, as it is pretty much brand new. As for the graphics card, I have tried multiple graphics cards in it and none have worked.
