Wanting to upgrade my Cyberpower i got a couple years ago.

Graphics Card: Intel Intel HD 4600

Version: 1703

OS Build: 15063.608

Processor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-4690k CPU 3.50Ghz

Installed Ram: 8.00GB

System Type 64- Bit Op system

Not sure what i should do first, just wanting to keep up without the comp chugging. I also video edit, things keep crashing on me so i feel this could be one of the reasons for it. PC might be getting worn out or just not able to keep up like it used to. I dont even game as much as i used to but i still would like to in case i do in the future. Any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

Not sure whether that pc lacks a gpu or you didnt mention it by mistake. Your processor is still pretty capable. If you dont have a graphics card, then that should be the first addition. Something like a gtx1050ti. Depending on the quality of the PSU that might need an upgrade to. But basically just by adding the graphics card, you should be able to game and edit more fluently.
More information about system spec should be helpful for better suggestions.

So you cant really do much with integrated then? Okay, i get power surges from time to time when i plug mutiple devices into the USB ports. Not sure if that should be a concern. I have an amplified game headset that i used. also webcams, mics and all that stuff. Not sure how well a dedicated would help this PC, seems to be giving me other problems. Would also like to use it for streaming, so hopefully dedicated will improve that. Thanks for reply again.

So i did a benchmark on this, this is what i got.

UserBenchmarks: Game 15%, Desk 51%, Work 33%
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K - 77%
GPU: Intel HD 4600 (Desktop 1.25 GHz) - 5.7%
HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB - 85.9%
RAM: Team Team-Elite-1600 2x4GB - 52.7%
MBD: Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2H

Not looking too good on gaming, barely on work or desk. Hopefully, some of these upgrades can improve this. So with this dedicated GPU work alongside the integrated or will it be replaced? Also, should I consider an SSD in the future for faster booting? Trying not to break the bank on this but i do need some solutions.

Those figures are pretty ok, considering the age of the processor and the absence of a dedicated card. A SSD will give you faster booting and loading time if you make it your primary OS drive.
The dedicated gpu will take over from igpu and the igpu will get deactivated. Make sure you connect to the ports on the card and not the motherboard for display.

Okay, thanks for the reply and help. This is good, so overall what is this price looking to be.

New PSU - Check
New GPU - check
New SSD - In the future - check

What about cooling and all that, i may need some more info on other parts i may need. If you know some places to find good deals that would be cool. Link it all up, post whatever you want. Needing to get a good understanding of what i will need in case i decide to do this soon. Might also want to do some light/medium duty streaming with this. so that might be a little more pricy.

If you are rocking a z87 or z97 board, get a good cooler like Cryorig h7 to overclock the processor for more performance. The h7 can surely push it to 4ghz.
Depending on the case, add fans if required. For streaming you might need the extra speed through overclocking.
This should be your approx. investment other than case fans which are pretty cheap...
