Is using my phone's mobile data for online gaming a good idea?

My internet right now is completely garbage, I'm talking 80 Kbps download, and I'm not sure what my upload is because it keeps failing the speedtest.net test.

But anyways I am getting very irritated because when I play online games (not sure how I even can) my ping spikes up to 3000+ and comes back down immediately to 70, but I still get kicked from the game. Right now I have 8GB shared with Verizon, but if I go through with this, I'll definitely get an unlimited plan, probably with Verizon or AT&T.

What are your thoughts on it?

*In case you were wondering, my internet provider is Frontier, yes I tried to get faster internet, yes I live in a rural area (surrounded by cornfields), and somehow I still get at least 3G with Verizon

The issue is those unlimited plans are not really unlimited.
They do have a cap, that when reached, will limit speeds to 128KBps (typically), usually around 22GB of use, from the plans Ive seen.

The other option, is to simply get something like a jetpack from verizon, allowing you to get internet over their mobile network.
