I'm trying to put together a mid tower build and am a little uncertain about choosing a motherboard and GPU. My budget is looking like $1300 or so by what I'm choosing.
I will be using this computer for ordinary tasks and a little video and photo editing. I may play a game here or there, but definitely not a serious gamer. I want a fast machine that will serve me well for years to come.
I plan on connecting a few USB3 HDD externals for backups. So I'd like some fast external ports. I guess USB3? Thunderbolt? I also have an existing 480gb esata g3 SSD id like to install internally for storage, to compliment the m2 ssd I've chosen for the build
I have read articles on other builds and have researched recommended hardware. It seems that some motherboards have 10% or more one star reviews on amazon due to claims of hardware having known faults and bad customer service. A few gigabyte boards to be specific.
I've been told the Nvidea 1050 is fine for my needs. Others tell me 1060. I want at least a 27" monitor, as I have become used to that with my imac, and can't go backwards. I plan on spending some money for a good higher res monitor, so I'm unsure of the GPU.
I don't think I need the best to get what I need.
Any recommendations on a motherboard, GPU, monitor, or anything else will be appreciated. I can't buy another iMac and be glued out of my machine. It's been a while since I've looked at pc hardware.
