Will a dual Molex adapter be safe with my GPU?

So I just got a gtx1080ti assuming I had the right connections but I'm missing one 8 pin. my PSU is evga 750b, it's semi modular and has 2 open 8-pin ports but I can't find any 8-8 cables on campus (im real anxious to test this baby out and otherwise I have to wait nearly a week). So I found someone who can give me a dual Molex to 8 pin adapter, I was just wondering if that would be safe with my PSU and GPU. Thanks!

Edit: My PSU did come with at least one extra 8 pin cable, so I'm sure it's fine but might as well be safe and ask.

Those cables are proprietary. At the psu side anyways. You'll need cables specific to that 750b, can't just use any old cable someone else had.

As to the adapters, yes you can use them, under certain conditions. Do not use the same chain for both sides of the adapter, use different chains. This splits up the load. If using 2x adapters, same thing, if you only have 2 open chains, put each side of the adapter on separate chain. That way if you get a heavy draw, it's split up on the wires, spread out as much as possible. And watch for wire counts. If the adapter has 3 hots, 1 on one side and 2 on the other, mix them up so both adapters only get 3 hots per chain.
Use of those adapters is never recommended, they fall short of full wattage...

Use of those adapters is never recommended, they fall short of full wattage capability of the pcie, so there is always potential risk of burning them up, possibly damaging the psu ports or burning out the pc. I'd advise you to wait, but you prolly won't, so take as much precautions as possible to minimize the risk.
