Hi guys, I am going to purchase a new cpu so I want some advice from EXPERTS. I have selected these 3 processors and I want you guys to tell me which one will perform best!

1. Intel Core i5 3470 (3.6 GHz)
2. AMD Phenom ii x6 1055t
3. AMD A8 7600B R7, 10 compute
cores 4c + 6g (3.10ghz)

Thanks in advance.

The i5 is still the better CPU. You'd need to get a Ryzen R3/5 CPU or a newer intel CPU to beat the i5 3470...or an i7 if you want to go same gen if that is what is available for you.

Of the CPUs listed...the i5 3470 is the fastest for gaming. That said it is a fairly old CPU, as are your other choices, so it still wouldn't qualify for "high end" gaming. 4C/4T CPUs are not really the best for gaming these days either, though it would still beat the X6 1055T due to the i5 IPC advantage. Point being if you want a high end gaming CPU you should be aiming for an i7 7700K/ R5 1600 or wait for the launch of coffee lake CPUs next month that will have 6C/12T i7s and 6C/6T i5s.

These are going to be my specs:-

i5 3470 3.6ghz
4gb ram ( I will later upgrade to 16 gb)
500gb Seagate hdd
475 watt psu
Gigabyte GeForce gtx 1050ti ( I will overclock it and I will ask for overclock guidance from you again after purchasing my cpu)

I have a 75 hertz lcd which can support upto this resolution 1280x1024. So I am going to play games on this resolution. So now what do you think? Enough to get 60fps on ultra settings on 2017 games?

Maybe. I can't say for certain but my guess is most games should be good with that hardware combo and resolution. There may be a few you have to turn some settings down. Especially when you only have the 4GB or ram. Getting up to 16GB will help but some games may require more CPU/GPU to hit the frame rate you looking for.

I would consider that PassMark, also, seems to agrees the FX8350 is a better processor =822&cmp[]=1780]https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=822&cmp[]=1780

CPUBoss seems to favour the I5 over the FX CPU, but not by much http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-3470-vs-AMD-FX-8350

userbenchmark seems to favor the I5-3470 over the FX8350 as well : http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-3470-vs-AMD-FX-8350/2771vs1489

the first question I would have is, what motherboard do you have if it is an intel based board then you have to go with that series cpu unless you change the motherboard. The cpu is only 1 component you need a compatible motherboard to go with it.
