Ram ddr3 work with other gb rams?

I have a 2gb ram in my computer and plan to add a 4 gb ram with different megahertz do you guys recommend it? Does having a different gb and diff in hertz in different ram slots affect your computer? Thanks!

Mixing RAM like that usually does not work. If you could get it to POST then you would face instability issues even after tinkering with the CAS and frequency settings in the BIOS. It’s recommended that you match your current stick with an exact stick or buy a matching set.

It won't affect like that .I just works fine .I have been using like that more than a year np yet .i use two completely different sticks .Try it if it causes issues then remove
