Just upgraded PSU, about to install GTX 1070

PSU was successfully installed, which is a huge weight off my chest. I've got it booted back up (typed the post on it) and am planning on removing old graphics card and installing new GTX 1070. Any advice before I begin? Does it need to be connected to the PSU as well?

The only issue I can foresee, as a complete noob, is that there are an ton of incredibly bulky cables from the PSU and the GTX 1070 is massive. It's going to be difficult trying to fit it in.

The GTX 1070 will require a power connector from the PSU. This varies slightly on the model, but it will be a PCIe connection on the PSU. You'll need good cable management to utilise the case space as much as possible, and you'll want to make sure your GPU won't infringe (hit/block) on any storage drives you may have mounted in the front cage.

The GPU is arguably one of the easiest things to install, just make sure your insert it all the way down til you hear the click that the latch has secured the GPU, then using a screw to mount the GPU bracket to your case. Your case will have slots and space to do all of this. As always, just take necessary precautions such as grounding yourself before touching any components to avoid static...

If you're worried, spend some time before hand creating good cable management, as it will make installing the GPU easier, and also improve air flow through your case.
