We're cursed with Frontier Communications and their [CENSORED] Netgear 7550 modem router. Our third one in a three years died so I connected an old Westell modem to an old DLink DIR-618. My one computer connects just fine but any others return a message they can't connect. The connected one is on Win7 SP1 and one that can't connect is on Win 10 15053. Plus, I can't access either the modem page or the DLink page. Suggestions?

It sounds like your router is not acting like a router. I would do a factory reset on the DLink. Check the IP address of the computer that does connect. Is is a public or private (192.168.x.y or 10.x.y.z)? If it is a public IP then you don't have a router in the link.

Makes sense as I set it up as a bridge since no one seems to thing users need more than 4 ports on modem / routers. I'm waiting on a replacement M/R from Frontier (aka Lousy phone company) which I hope will not be another POS Netgear 7550 as well as a DLink switch I bought. Once that comes, I plan to rejigger everything.
