I'm doing a corporate paper on AMD and I think I know that AMD has Global Foundries make their Processors but who makes AMD's GPUs prior to 3rd party manufaturers? Is it global foundries or any other company or does AMD produce its own GPU chip

Solution
Global Foundries and TSMC make there GPUs depending on which model. The RX series are Global foundries but some of the older models and models in the pipe for the future are TSMC and they even have even used Samsung in the past. Did you have particular models in mind and where they were fabed?

Solution
i think it's like this:
AMD makes the specification
they ask some other company (or factory) and ask them to design it accordingly to their specification
then, proceed into selling it to the 3rd party manufacturers like MSI, Asus, etc

so basicly, AMD makes (design) it, but might not entirely produce it by themself

I think he was asking who fabed the GPUs themselves not who built the cards though I could be mistaken. For GPUs being fabbed it is as I stated above. As for actual cards...You get third parties as constantine_99 stated who follows AMDs design spec but AMD builds some cards them self much like Nvidia does though even those are sourced out (ie AMD does not have it's own production facilities) but those cards serve as a reference design the 3rd party makers then tweak to their own wants/needs. Better cooling, VRMs, Caps, etc.
