Hi, i got a new computer.

specs here: https://pricespy.co.nz/list.php?l=252346&view=m

The computer keeps crashing during normal use browsing the web. When I enter a game, the menu works fine untill the game play starts and the screen freezes but gameplay continues (I can tell by the sound). I've tried all sorts of things and think it could be a compataibility issue.

All drivers up to date. bios up to date.

I somtimes got a BSOD with Video_Scedular_Internal_Error.
I tried installing OS on both HHD and SSD. no luck.
switched GPU into another comp and works fine, got a diff GPU but still have the same problems.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Thats tough. While my biggest issue with your build is the FSP PSU every thing else looks pretty good. FSP does not have the best track record with PSU and a bad one can reek havoc on a system. FSP tends to fall in the tier 7 range (I encourage folks to never get less then a teir 1 or 2 unit) but I can't find your exact make and model tier'd up to be certain though I did see one OK review for it but not much beyond that. Normally not a good sign. I would very scared to use that unit in my system. I suggest if you can still return it and get a different one to do that immediately and get a tier 1 or 2 supply

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/ (see tier 7)

Point being a bad PSU can cause all kinds of errors in hardware that then causes various software errors. You don't happen to have a spare PSU around? If you do try testing with it to see if your system gets stable. Also have you made sure your ram timings are set properly in bios? Are you overclocking at all? Try running memtest and see if you have a bad stick of ram.

Even if no errors come back you could try one stick of ram at a time to see if that helps. One may be bad, if so in all likelihood memtest will pick it up. Running on stick at a time never hurts though. You could have a bad memory channel in your motherboard or even your CPU. So testing all scenarios never hurts when troubleshooting. Test everything I mentioned and you should narrow it down. I suggest replacing your PSU even if you find the issue to be something else. PSU is the heart of your system and the last place you should try to save money. It can fry everything in your system if it dies.

Thanks a heap!

I never knew you could have a "bad" PSU which can cause problems like that. I do have another one in another working system. It is a Enermax NAXN 450w, (which isn't very good either according to your list but still better). Will try that PSU tomorrow and come back to you.

I have tried a memtest before with both sticks but only let it run 4 passes with no errors. I'm not overclocking anything and the ram has been set to the rated speed.

Hopefully it works with the other PSU...

Hi,

Sorry its been a while.

So I did some tests with the RAM. With both sticks in the PC would run very bad. The screen would flicker, games wouldnt run at all and I couldnt even get Furmark to run without crashing.

Then when I tried with one of the sticks it half worked. The screen wouldn't flicker as much, crashing seemed to never happen, only occasionally but games would run for about 30 seconds before the display freezing.
I tried a mem test with both sticks in a after 7 passes I got 1 error on test 3.
I checked with GIGABYTE and they said the ram is compatible. So that should be fine.

I also tried changing power supply but that didn't help.

I am fairly sure i was given a faulty part so i am returning some parts and they will test to see what the problem is.
