Help figuring out what input this little black circle is?

Hi, I have a 5200 S-video mod and it has the Svideo input and what looks like an audio jack for a single headphone and a black hole that looks like a RCA Composite input but I think its smaller. Anyhow, the S-Video isnt that great a picture, maybe because I have to use an adapter I dont know that for certain but I was fooling around and I touched the rca cord without the adapter to the black hole (Which I dont know what input that is) and the video comes up fantastic but there is no way for me to keep it that way. The hole looks like a Coaxial Audio input to me after Hours of research and looking for pics of this or similar mod online and I came up empty so 4 hours later, I ask, does anyone else have this mod? 3 Inputs, one Headphone jack, one S-Video input and a black hole input that seems slightly smaller than a rca male prong to fit. If no one has this mod, does anyone have an idea what this 3rd hole is by my description above? If it IS Coaxial Audio, then how the ell would I get video out of it ever?I cant find an adapter to even try it. I looked for RCA Female to Coax Audio male with no luck. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks

searching for a "5200 s-video mod" yields results for an atari 5200 modded to output s-video. is this what you have? i'm still confused at what exactly you have and what it is connected to.

the picture looks like that should be an audio output since s-video does not carry sound. but the headphone jack is likely the sound output. that leaves the old yellow rca video output for it, though not sure why it is black and not yellow.

does that black jack give any audio at all or is it just video when you touch the connection?

Okay I will try to upload the pic I just took. It isnt the best pic but I think you can see it good enough to let me know what it is. To me it looks like Coax Audio input but if that is the case, is it even possible to get video out of that input/output? Also, i read that Coax Audio is the same size as RCA but this seems smaller of a hole. I am afraid to puch too hard as not to chance breaking it but I also read that Coax Audio is supposed to be really snug so I am not sure if It is that and I am not pushing in hard enough and if so, still is it possible to get video out of a Coax Audio port?

The headphone jack is definitely the sound as you can only get mono on these old systems unless they figured that out too but I did not try it with the headphone out so I am not sure if it has sound and video. It is an older mod for sure which is why I cant find any similar looking pics of one online. I did this by accident but I didnt want to force the rca into the jack but I may try that later. It is an awful tight fit if it does go which makes me think it is not RCA besides being black and not yellow. Can a Coaxial Audio have both Audio and Video? I wonder if this was an accident or on purpose but I have no clue if it works for more than a minute and I am also kinda afraid if I put the yellow rca all the way in this, will it possibly short the whole thing or ruin it somehow? I dont know. It is a 5200 system and that is the back panel where everyone else has their mods in pics but usually it is svideo with 2 rca jacks for audio or all composite mod. Any other suggestions, let me know. If I get a chance to night, I will mess with it and report my results. I mean the Svideo looks kinda blurry and bleeding colors but I am not sure if its a bad adapter or what and the way I found it touching "the black hole" is as clear as can be and it had sound but it did even when I had no picture because of the audio headphone jack it uses for audio. Thanks for your thoughts, it is much appreciated

Well I feel dumb because I just pushed it in all the way with more force than usual and it seems to be an RCA and all this time I thought it was a secondary digital audio port. Looks way better than the Svid but I still think it maybe because of the adapter. Either way, this works and I can now enjoy it clearly. Thanks for your help. My best guess is this is a Coax Audio shell but is used as a RCA video in. Maybe it saved them money to make them this way??? Not sure but it works and all is good. Cheers

glad it worked for you. i found an old site with wiring diagrams and such for the mod and it sure looked like that had to be a yellow video output from the way it was wired. assuming i found a similar mod kit that is.

enjoy the old school gaming :)
