Please suggest a suitable graphics card, my rig is as mentioned below:
Cpu - i4460
PSU - Corsair vs550
Mb - Gigabyte B85 D3H
Ram - Corsair Vengeance 8gb DDR3
HDD - 1TB Seagate

What's the Budget? You could go up to a gtx 1060/Rx 580 without needing to worry about bottleneck

Graphics card prices are really high right now due to mining. For your rig now, I would look at a 1050ti for around $150.

My budget is around 160$/12k rupees.
Screen resolution is 1440/990

That's a low resolution. If you don't plan to purchase a 1080p or higher resolution monitor, don't bother going any higher than a gtx 1050. Not only will it be a waste of money if you decide to go higher, but additionally you'll be paying inflated prices due to the demand of crypto currency mining.

I'm thinking of going with gtx 750ti.
Which brands are better? Like in MSI/EVGA/GIGABYTE/ASUS/ZOTAC...

The brands are all the same. The chip inside was made by Nvidia. I would buy whichever is cheaper. You may want to consider the gt 1030 over the 750ti. It cost $70 and should perform the same while using less power.
