Bad gpu or bad motherboard?

So recently my gpu doesn't give image. Everything was working fine then I reapplied some thermal paste on the graphics card and when I tried to turn on the computer, boom, black screen. It boots right up (I can turn on/off the num/caps/scroll lock no problem) and with the motherboard graphics, it does work just right.

So my question is: did my graphics card die, or the pcie slot on the motherboard? Or how can I find it out?

The device manager doesn't show everything as a gpu, only the integrated one, I just can't find it anywhere. Also, the fan on the card is not even spinning, oh and I did try other pcie power cables on the card.

Specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 970 3.5ghz
Asus M5A78L-m/usb3
Kingston Hyperx Fury DDR3 1600mhz
Sapphire HD7770 1gb ghz edition
Chieftec GPS500ab-a psu

Well the only really other options there are is to take out the gpu and test it in another pc like a friends, a backup pc or a computer shop nearby. And if the card does indeed work then it is for sure the motherboard
