CPU and GPU huge bottleneck?

I have M4N68T-M-LE-V2 Motherboard, AMD Phenom II X4 955 CPU, i'm planning to buy GT 1050 2gb, will there be a "pain in the ass" bottleneck? can i play 2017 games on it?

yeah, the CPU is just too weak. It will of course depend on the game itself. But for modern AAA titles it will really bottleneck.
The CPU has a low-ish 3.2 clockspeed, and although 4 cores, is under-powered for that card. You will be able to play games, but at what settings is unknown.
It depends on your res too. Older games will run well, your CPU isn't complete trash, but just not good enough for that card.

well, you pretty much have one of the best for that mobo. I did notice, and apolgies for not mentioning it so far, that you have an OC'able CPU. that means you can make it run faster than spec. This would help with the bottleneck.

The only other alternative is to change the mobo/ram/cpu for newer components, and then along with the 1050 you will get much better results, and have a decent gaming machine.

are there still bottleneck with my CPU with GTX 750 ti instead of GTX 1050 2gb? Sorry for being a noob :D

no apologies needed. i've asked the same questions myself :)

hmm, no bottleneck with the 750ti, but it's not half as good a card as the 1050.

When people say 'bottleneck', yes more often than not a CPU is holding back a GPU because it can't privde the GPU with enough data to work at it's optimum levels. That doesn't mean it won't work. But you may not see a huge improvment in FPS because of the bottleneck. It's a fine line between getting a new snazzy GPU and being able to run it at full pelt, versus doing an upgrade that won't fully be utilized because of a lesser CPU.
