Disparate CPU temperature readings .... which do you trust?

I'm running a load test on my new Ryzen 3 1200 build. Stock cooler, not yet overclocked.

OCCT (4.5.1) reports that the CPU has stabilized at 39.5 degrees Celsius.
Core Temp (1.10.2) says 50 degrees Celsius.

Then I looked at HWiNFO64, which differentiates between the CPU reporting its own temperature, and the motherboard reporting the CPU temperature. Under load, the CPU seems to be reporting 49 degrees, but the motherboard is claiming that the CPU is 40 degrees. Under no load, the CPU claims 29 and the motherboard says the CPU is 35.

I'm more inclined to believe that the temperature fluctuated between 29 and 49, rather than the 35-40 range that the motherboard reported. I don't see this kind of disparity in my other system.

Ryzen 3 1200 w/stock cooler
msi B350 Mortar Arctic
G.Skill Flare X 2400MHz (2 x 8GB)

Solution
youre looking at the single core temps and the actual housing temp?

anyone worried about temps and thinking of overclocking should invest in liquid. that stock isnt going to cut it if you believe the higher temp is the accurate one.
