Hi everyone,

I made a post yesterday, but I can't seem to find it, so I'll just make a new one. I've got some questions to ask about GPUs:

1. I have a Fx-8320e, but I'm planning to buy a Ryzen 5 in a year or so. That being said, which GPU would you buy: gtx 1060 or gtx 1070?

2. Would a gtx 1060 still be able to run games at 60 fps on high settings in 2-3 years? What about the gtx 1070? Would it still be powerful in 3 years time?

3. What do you think about this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LLAJ8PU/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i1?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pd_rd_i=B01LLAJ8PU&pd_rd_r=MSFBAJB5TDGN6DYRJ3Q0&pd_rd_w=7iO3a&pd_rd_wg=7MOFR&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=E060FS59WC6FXE8WHBM9&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=1cf9d009-399c-49e1-901a-7b8786e59436&pf_rd_i=desktop ? Is it a good choice?

My goal is to run Battlefield 1, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, AC Origins, NFS Payback and pretty much every game of the next 2-3 years on high settings at 60 fps.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
1. depends on what resolution are u aiming for and the games u're planning on playing, spec wise, the 1060 should be enough (for 1080p), but if u want something that'll last longer / u're playing on 1440p, then the 1070 is the way to go :)

2. should be enough for 2-3 years, though it'll depends on how fast does the technology evolve (with the upcoming volta next year which might affect the dev on making something much more demanding :)) [surely the 1070 will last longer than the 1060]

3. it's great, and 400$ for a 1070 is still within reason imo :)

next year Ryzen 2.0 might come, so maybe u should hold your thoughts on the Ryzen 5 and see what the 2.0 has to offers :)
