Do you think I fried my valkyrie cz-17 laptop?

I have two Valyrie (Ibuypower) CZ-17 laptops. About two years into use, the power port on laptop 1 came loose. So, it would no longer charge. I had this fixed by the maker.
The same happened recently on laptop 2. No warranty. So, I tried to fix this myself.
Got the parts, disassembled everything, desoldered the bad power port, and soldered the new one on.
Looked like it'd work....sorta.
Plugged it in (after reassembly). Hit power on (never did actually turn on/start); I heard a pop and a few moments later a burning smell. I think part of the issue was when I installed the new power jack, the solder work was not as neat as the others. Perhaps too much juice built up in my handy work, which looked not unlike the soldering skillz of someone fresh off the short bus.

Based on the above, do you think I fried the motherboard and more? Or could it be something easy/cheap to fix?

What would be a reasonable cost for this repair(s) if taken to a private repair person?

i agree. hence the short bus.
what are the odds it just blew the capacitor instead of that and the motherboard? and what would it cost to fix in either scenario, if you know?
