Hey guys so yesterday my new ram arrived, http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/ms-7280-%28k9a-platinum%29/CT767435

I ordered 4 sticks of 2gb ram.
Put the first one in and was fine then put in my second one in the second slot and was left with "starting Windows" any help about how to get past it? Is my ram in correctly?

I'll post some further details of my PC below:

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Athlon%2064%20X2%206000%2B%20-%20ADX6000IAA6CZ%20(ADX6000CZBOX).html

That's my PC

Model number MS-7280

Graphics card: GT 610

I don't know what this issue is, PLEASE HELP!!!

Question from mattc1998 : "Is my ram too quick for my mobo?"

The only thing I see in the manual about RAM adjustments is the latencies. That would affect speed but not my enough to be perceptible.

First try to reset to default settings in the BIOS and reboot. If that doesn't work, power down...
I misunderstood the way you wrote it, as if the machine wouldn't go any further after the second stick went in. Why didn't you go for all four at once?

I wasn't helped by a failure in one of the links so if you can give us the make and model of the motherboard, it would help.

Strip two or three of them out and see what happens next. I hate to have to say this but you do know they only fit one way round, don't you? It's a serious but potentially insulting question but you wouldn't believe how many didn't.

First try to reset to default settings in the BIOS and reboot. If that doesn't work, power down and remove the BIOS backup battery. You also have to set and unset a jumper for the reset to occur. See page 2-19 in the manual.

You may have a defective RAM module so try each of them individually.
