So im on my computer at work right now.

Work refuses to get us WiFi.

I burn thru my verizon data in no time at all when i work night shifts because im bored otherwise.

Is there anyway i can make my computer give off a wifi signal that my cell phone can connect to? IK some smart phones can become hotspots so i figure why wouldnt a computer be able to? what hardware would i need? thankssss

Computers can became Wifi Hotspot - with proper software/hardware.
However is much easyer to put an Wifi extender and get signal from other building or ask IT guy to put an wifi access point in your office.
You can also bring your own wifi router and connect it before your computer but that may be illegal and may break your computer intranet (aka local) connection (unless you made the proper portforwarding - which i doubt you are able to).
If you expose the corporate network to external attacks from your unapproved hotspot you're just opening yourself up to potential lawsuits for compromising network security especially if a hacker is able to gain access to the network and access customers personal data.

okay this is probably the best answer, even though it totally dodged my question. its just BS because other buildings under the same employer have wifi and they wont let us get it. were a 24 hr operation so like wtf we live our lives here we should have wifi...it is possible though it sounds like........a little guidance? i wont do it without discussing my with my IT guy, were in a remote location so hacking would be tough, and its not a corporation or normal 'business'.

Just tryin' to save you from getting fired.

Sure...
Install this, do that, configure this other thing.
Then, when you come back with..."That requires admin access..", you get to the same answer as you've been given.

If I did that at work, that is an instant firing. Seriously.

haaaa thanks fellas. i found it in about 2 seconds after i left here. actually really easy on windows 10 as long as you have wifi capabilities....gonna talk to the manager tmrw about it, i dont think hell mind. he knows is bs we dont get wifi. its because some scu|\/|b4gs in another department watched p*rn on their phone while at work, repeatedly. and someone looked at the history i guess and was pretty upset about it
