I would consider myself to be a hardcore gamer on the PC, and I play all sorts of games including fps, strategy, rpg, really anything. I am looking for the best headset that money can buy. I currently have the Hyperx Cloud 2, which is a decent headset for its price. I have had that headset for 2 years now. I have attempted to do research on the best headsets, but now i am looking for some opinions on the very best headset.

Here are my preferences/requirements:

- I prefer wired headsets.

- A good mic would be nice.

- MUST have good surround sound capabilities.

- Sound quality must be top notch.

- Must be pretty durable.

- Comfort isnt a huge factor, but it is always nice.

- Bulkiness doesnt matter.

- Price doesnt matter.

- Looks dont really matter.

- Good noise cancellation is always great.

Whatever headset you think is currently the absoulte best, i am happy to hear!

:)

Shure SRH1440 are probably one of the best you would need to get a separate mic but when you say you want the best sound your talking about leaving gaming headsets behind and looking into getting into audiophile territory it can get expensive fast. This is a good set runs around $300 and will blow any gaming headset out of the water. You could also benefit in getting a headphone amp aswell but it's not required with these and they will sound great either way.

Me personally I love the Corsair Void headset. Reasons why are that I am a dad and I can hear through the memory foam ear cups and know what's going on around me. Sound is decent(not the best but better...

Sound is decent(not the best but better then alot of gaming headsets) the mic is wonderful very crisp and clear to others, it's got to be one of the most sturdiest gaming headsets I've worn super premium build quality no plasticy creaking, and they are so comfortable I hardly notice they are there plus long battery life and good range I could go on. Bit this is where you have to make the decision of is gaming headsets with the built in mics going to cut it anymore or are your ears yearning for that perfect sound that your only going to get from a separate setup headset and table top mic of some form.
