I7 7700k or i7 6700k but Im getting a z170 chipset motherboard

*IF* your BIOS is recent, the 7700K would be the preferred choice, especially at $15 less; however, if the MB has a pre-Kabylake BIOS it may have issues at initial power up, which can leave some users in a 'pickle'...

Do you know anyone with a 6000-series CPU that might let you borrow it for 10 minutes if you have issues? If not, the 6700K might be better rather than risking a 'can't flash the BIOS' fiasco.

I could totally steal a family members cpu if they have the right chipset and socket type but I don't know what they have (and their not exactly tech savvy to ask them xD) but if I can't find a cpu from a family member I will probably just buy the weakest cpu I can find like a 2.2 dual core celeron or something for 40$ because I think that will be cheaper than buying a good z270 motherboard right now. But thanks for giving me the idea that I could use someone else's cpu I'm gonna ask around and see what I can find. Oh and do you think I would have to install a cooler for just 10 minutes or whatever to upgrade my Bios.
