Buying a GPU from Amazon or Ebay?

I'm going to buy a GTX 1080ti, this is the first time I'm building a pc by myself. I'm confused from which site should I buy because I can't return the gpu if I receive broken from Amazon. As for Ebay, I have no experience buying from them but it comes with Ebay guarantee and i could return it. I've seen many people say don't buy from Ebay, they scam people a lot but those posts were about used gpu. What I'm going to buy is brand new.

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

Why do you say that can not return to Amazon if it arrives DOA?. Ebay is a good and safe place to buy ALWAYS that you select the correct seller. The seller of the link that you post seems a little new but with excellent rating and paypal guarantee so should not be a problem there.

You can return the GPU if you buy it from Amazon. At least here in the US you can. Newegg is also a good place to buy computer parts.

As for ebay, just look at the seller's reputation. Only buy one from someone who has a very high rep and has a detailed return policy. Read the reviews on the seller and look at the feedback. Most large sellers on ebay are very reputable. I buy stuff from there all the time.

Even in the moon you can return it, I live in Colombia (not Amazon not English) and I returned a motherboard that arrived DOA to my home. :)

That card is fulfilled by Amazon. That means you deal directly with Amazon for returns and shipping. When you buy a component just look for the Amazon Fulfilled emblem next to the price of the item.

The issues you face with returns come in when you use a global seller. As it is usually shipped overseas. Items can still be returned but shipping takes a long time.

You should check the Amazon link, its clearly mention under Item return policy that this item is non- returnable

So I could return item even though it says item is non- returnable under return policy? Sorry, I don't want to sound harsh but I don't know much about these stuffs...
