Can anyone tell me why my firewire pcie card isn't in my control panel? It's Windows 10. Is there an option in my motherboard (ASUA Z270E)? When I first put it in, the card was found but wanted
me to go in and set something I guess but I couldn't find any option to enable it. Thanks

THANKS AGAIN , I found out the problem. I removed the card, started then reinstalled and wrote down the message in the BIOS boot...

When you add a card like that into a PCIe slot, there is no setting in BIOS for that. However, it is a device that Windows needs to have a driver for. The card should have come with a disk that contained a Windows device driver that you could install under Windows. Or maybe, it's something you need to download from the card maker's website.

In Device Manager (within Control Panel) the card should be visible. BUT it may have a yellow triangle symbol beside it to indicate that it needs a driver installed. Get that done and then Windows should be able to access external devices plugged into the card.

THANKS for the REPLY, it's a generic card and there was no driver disk. I've tried downloading the FIX from the Microsoft site, still no go. My
control panel doesn't even have a IEEE 1394 option in it. Thank You. I've gotten in touch with ASUS to see what they say. I'll let you know. THANKS AGAIN!

THANKS AGAIN , I found out the problem. I removed the card, started then reinstalled and wrote down the message in the BIOS boot screen. It said I needed to change the USB 3.1 front to PCI-EX 2&4. It then found it and there is an option in control panel for IEEE 1394 Host Controller. THANKS AGAIN
