Hello, I'm having a weird problem with my keyboard. I've plugged my charger in the same triple socket my desktop uses and suddenly my keyboard started typing funny. as if there were multiple keyboards pressing buttons that I press. I,

  • ■ reset bios,
    ■ reformatted pc,
    ■ tried 3 other keyboards,
    ■ changed the usb ports I use,
    ■ changed the triple socket for one with a switch guard,
    ■ updated bios,
none of above helped me, unfortunately. one thing though, it's in a state of on and off like, it gets corrupted and gets fixed if I try grounding the PSU. and sometimes it gets fixed by itself. I was thinking malware but no, I scanned with a lot of programs so it's most definitely a hw failure. as I write this keyboard was malfunctioning 3 minutes ago... any thoughts?

Seems obvious that the problem is a "dirty" power feed to the computer, and the laptop charger seems to be the bad guy causing it.
* If that charger is some cheap third party charger I'd suggest you replace it before things get really nasty.
* If it's a well known brand charger that originally came bundled with the laptop then, if possible, make it a warranty issue. If no warranty then a ferrite core on the cable between the charger and power plug should reduce any transients.

Seems like a problem with EMC (Electro Magnetic Coupling).
* Is this a wireless keyboard?
* Is the "charger" used for the keyboard?
* If so, does the charger have to be plugged in when the keyboard is in use?

I forgot to mention, the charger belongs to my laptop, sorry. and no it's not a wireless keyboard.

Now you state "tried three other keyboards".
1. Does the problem remain when you use other keyboards?
2. Are the "other" keyboards same make and model, or what differences are there?

If the problem remains when you use completely different keyboards it's not a problem in the keyboards, but how their signals are read by the computer.
You could try ro use some other keyboard driver.

hello, thanks for your reply. I've tried 3 other completely different keyboards, even changed usb ports I use for them, the problem remains. although after I get the new triple socket my keyboard lasts about 12~ hours without going ape shit. used to be 2 hours before new triple.

Hello, I've moved my desktop to the kitchen it worked there perfectly normal for 3 days without keyboard malfunction. now I'm calling an electrician to my house to check out my cables and stuff. I'll post the results here.
