Hi, can you guys help me to decide which build is better for rendering video and light gaming, also for upgrading in the future

CPU : Intel Pentium G4560
Mobo : ASRock H110M-DVS
HDD : WDC 320GB SATA2 8MB
RAM : Gskill DDR4 AEGIS PC19200 8GB (2x4GB) Dual Channel
Case : Dazumba DE 210
PSU : be quiet! SYSTEM POWER 8 400W
Grand Total $300-ish

or this one

CPU : AMD X4 950 3.5Ghz Up To 3.8Ghz Cache 2MB
Mobo : AM4 ASRock A320M-HDV AMD Socket AM4 1
RAM : Memory DDR4 A-Data AD4U2133W4G15-R (1x4Gb) DDR4
Case + PSU : Casing Mini ATX Simbadda 969 380W 1
HDD : Harddisk SSD Samsung 750 Evo Sata III 250Gb SSD
Grand total also $280-ish

The first is using G4560 and the other one is X4 950

So which is better for rendering, the pentium with better single core performance or X4 950 with more cores?

Solution
AMD X4 950 is so old tech that even when using all 4 cores for rendering, it cannot beat G4560 (they are roughly the same in rendering performance, AMD ends up being several percent slower overall). Pentium also beats it by 35% in single-threaded apps. X4 is dead-end in terms of upgrading, while Pentium can still later be upgraded to i7 7th gen, for example.

That being said, you will be far better off buying Ryzen 5 1600 CPU instead. Much, much better for rendering and gaming than both options combined.
