I have 3 pins missing on my mobo cpu socket. These missing pins are preventing 2 of my memory slots from working.
As a result I am having to use the other 2 slots, which do not support dual+ channel mode. This is a 4 year old build and I know there is no warranty, and even so I doubt they would honor it considering I most likely caused this somehow when I built the PC as a rookie.
I would like to know if running the RAM in these slots is significantly slower than dual channel. I was planning on getting a 1080 ti soon, but if the RAM is going to bottleneck the build I guess I will have to get a whole new MOBO...in which case I might as well drop a few hundred more and upgrade to a newer socket MOBO and newer CPU.
