i have a wd green 500gb hdd ,64m cache and i noticed that its slow from downloading using steam, disk usage was only 1 or 2 mb so i did a search for it and results with the same hdd was very good with most people at the same ( exact same) hdd but when i did a benchmark 4 times using diskmark it wasnt good enough and i think its my sata cable its an old sata 1 cable and i think that is the problem i did optimize the hdd using windows tool with no effect my hdd is brand new and i dont know what to do

It might be what the problem, i would get a new cable (they are a couple of bucks for a pack of them on amazon) and see if that changes anything, what mobo/cpu do you have, there my, if it is ol it may not have sataIII

What speed do you pay for from your ISP? What download speed do you get if you run a speed test?

Pretty sure SATA cables haven't changed between different SATA revisions. If you're not getting a SATA 3 connection between to your HDD, likely your mobo doesn't support SATA 3.
