Dying GPU - Any Fix Suggestions?

Hey folks,
I have two AMD Radeon HD 7950s that I've run crossfired for several years. One is 5 years old and the other about 2-ish. As expected, the former appears to be heading out the door.

I've already narrowed the problem down to this GPU, as I can run the PC perfectly fine with the more recent 7950.

The GPU only hits about 63°C before completely locking up the PC during gaming, with vertical bars on-screen. I have not overclocked it at any point in its lifespan.

I've already:

  • ■ Disassembled GPU
    ■ Cleaned with compressed air
    ■ Applied new thermal compound
    ■ Ensured fan is spinning

I still have my secondary card which is working okay, but I just hate to throw away the other one if it can still be saved somehow. What do you guys think the issue is, bad solder joints? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Solution
Just so you know, baking it "might" fix the solder joint, it is just as likely to ruin everything else. Pencil traces are remarkable effective if you are looking for a low-tech, low effort thing to try.
You've already hit all the obvious solutions. A broken solder joint could cause the symptoms you describe. Have you used a magnifying glass to look for one?
Personally, I would just pull the bad card. You've already invested a lot of labor hours in to a device which is already well past its prime. Have you considered just saving up for something newer which would with a single card be faster than your previous crossfire setup?

Thanks for the responses guys! Glad to get a confirmation that I was on the right track. I'll definitely be getting a new GPU in the future once my budget allows it, being as these are a bit dated at this point anyway. Since I don't have anything to lose I'll probably try looking for some cracked solder joints and either pen them or bake the whole thing.
