New CPU/Mobo won't boot up. B250h asus strix/i5 7600k

I bought the duo, bought a fancy new cooler for the CPU installed the CPU/cooler thoroughly and slowly, same with the motherboards installation, very carefully, snug and tight, everything in the case is plugged into something.

When I finally finished I plugged my pc into the wall and to my excitement my psu lit up with its standby light and so did the motherboard.

I press the power button and nothing, no fans moving, no post, no nothing it's as if I didn't press anything.

Very confused and disappointed and sad and worried and what not I've been waiting forever for this build to come together and its just blanked. I have the front panels connected, my 24 pin and 8 pin power atx cables connected directly into the board, everything is just dandy and previous mobo and cpu worked plugged exactly the same, if this mobo is DOA I'm legitimately never buying any ASUS boards ever again. Please help, I don't know what else to do


note: I have nothing installed to the motherboard other than the CPU/cooler and fans, fans don't start neither does cpu and cooler. (nothing does) No ram / no GPU / no anything PCI.

Motherboard could be improperly installed.
Wiring could be improperly connected.
Incorrect cabling to display.
Asus does not cover damages caused by incorrect CPU installation.

It is unusual to be combining a "k" CPU with an unlocked multiplier with an economy model B250 Chipset motherboard. It shows some indication of a novice builder.

I have a speaker connected, no sound on press, I might be missing too much to boot up but I thought it would atleast run the fans.

I know that it's odd but should work and I always purchase an unlocked processor because it's overall going to be worth having.

I've built plenty of PC's and feel absolutely stumped with this one, I'm really not sure what else to try.

Everything is just so properly connected, theres no contact between the mobo and the case, nothing close to the board to even signify a short, the motherboards LED's are working and the Standby light is on. CPU mobo light isn't on, the power button just doesn't do anything, I've just never heard anybody with this exact issue unless they had a DOA mobo, but the lights are just working I don't wanna jump to that conclusion, there has to be something wrong and I will not know if it's ram until I get my hands on some.

SOLVED!

Guys im a fucking idiot. Excuse my language, I failed to recognize that one of the corners of my motherboard lacked a lift, theres a name for the little golden screw that separates your mobo from the case itself. it caused an obvious short. I now have a working wonderfully put together machine, now to install my EVGA 1080 and 16gb of DDR4 2400mhz ram sticks.

Cheers hopefully I saved a fellow idiot some time.
