I have an msi b350 tomahawk motherboard, the graphics card in the title, and a ryzen 5 1600. I updated the bios for my motherboard but I still only get 70ish frames for games like CSGO on high setting. I'm sure I should be getting more. On the worst settings, I get up to 250 fps but what about high settings? thanks in advance

Solution
okay with a 100hz panel you may expect FPS to be a little less. So it doesn't sound as if it's completely out of whack.

You can set game settings in two ways. Through the in-game settings or via the Nvidia control panel. Right click on your desktop and you should see the option on the menu, click it and open it up. Then go to 3d settings. You can change some variable here, including optimizations. You can enhance the application (game) settings either Gobally (which means anything you change will be applied to all 3d apps) or per game (which will only apply the changes to the specific game profile)

Sometimes to get best FPS you need to play around. Peronally, even though my own system runs everything I want at Ultra @ 1080p, I will...

I did download it, but I usually just run through steam itself. But isn't my graphics card good enough to run csgo on high setting at high framerate?

yes it is. the point I was making is Geforce experience has way of 'over optimizing' games. at least thats what I found when I tried it out at first.

Generally i set all games settings in game, with maybe one or two Global tweaks in the Nvidia control panel. It will always get better results.

It also depends a little on what res youre playing at? I would expect higher FPS for that card at high settings on 1080p, but if your gaming on a 1440p or 144hz 1080p monitor then your FPS may not be as you think.

Ok, so I should delete geforce experience. I play on 1080p, with a monitor refresh rate if 100Hz if I'm not wrong.
Also what do you mean by global tweaks in the nvidia control panel?

So what should I expect my average fps to be on ultra? 70? 200?

Never mind, I found the problem. Turning off v-sync boosted my fps from 60 to 250-300. Thanks for the help anyways though!

ha, i've done it myself on occasion. Turned it on for one reason or another, and then forgotten about it!

Glad it's sorted.
