Should I update my iPhone

Iv got the original 6 my dad updated to iOS 11.x.x and he's been having problems with it crashing and what not but he's got the 5s.

Is it worth upgrading and can I backup the phone and go back to 10.x.x if 11 isn't working

the problem is the iphone 6 like the 5s is pretty old so on one hand older phones start getting slow with upgrades like this but if you do not upgrade you will eventually find your apps will not work because your on on older version of IOS. its best to do a search and see if anyone else if having issues with IOS 11 on an iphone 6

but your dads could be fine again if he does a factory reset
