I'm doing a build with pretty old gen components (Sandy Bridge generation)
Found an old board lying around (Asus P8P67 PRO)(BTW, the board has PCIE 2.0 i'm using R9 390 For the build can I use it in PCIE 2.0 slot? do I have to update BIOS or do anything extra at all???)
I find only 4 fan hubs in this board with the manual (1 4-Pins CPU fan PWM, 2 Case fan 1 4-Pins PWM 1 3-Pins and 1 Power fan 3 pins connector (ps I don't actually know what Power fan means)
The case i'm using can put in 6 fans, I know some of you might be thinking "why would you put all 6 fans or somewhat else" I'm a case fan maniac, and air cooler addict too. So in total 6 case fan and 2 cpu fan (with PWM fan splitter 2 4pins into 1 4pins)
So i'm getting a cheap fan hub, molex to 8x4pins PWM ports.
***So here are the questions***
1)the board has PCIE 2.0 i'm using R9 390 For the build can I use it in PCIE 2.0 slot? do I have to update BIOS or do anything extra at all???
2)I know CPU cooler fans needs to be PWM, but can I use PWM connectors for case fans as well? I want them to cool inside of my case efficient as possible and adjusts itself to the system temps inside the case as well. I don't want to connect a 3 pins connector and let it run at only one speed and not adjusting itself to the system temp.
Thanks in advance!
