I have an opportunity to purchase an MSI GTX 1060 (6GB). One is a Gaming X 6G and the other is a Gaming X+ 6G. Both are 6GB cards.

The non plus model is $285 and the Plus model is $310.

Is the Plus model worth the extra $25?

What would be the difference in performance if there are any?

These are some of the games I'll be playing:

Fallout 4
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Alien Isolation
Shadow of Mordor
League of Legends

I would buy the cheaper card. Both of the chips inside the card are made by Nvidia. The Gaming X+ is just overclocked more. You can probably achieve the same overclock your self in a half an hour. Even if you cant, you will never see any visual difference in games. The only time you might see a difference is an couple fps score on a benchmark.

Get the cheaper one and use the money saved to buy a new game.

What is the verdict now that the Standard X is 17 dollars more and the X+ is cheaper ?? now im confused

The GPU market is wonky right now due to crypto currency mining. Many cards are out of stock and those that are in stock are way above MSRP. Retailers don’t know exactly how to price the cards because of the market.

It’s not a good time to buy a card. Unless you just have to have one, I would wait a bit and see if prices go down. Crypto has not had a good run the last month or two and mining profits are way down from January. So we may see the cards prices slowly start to dip.

I am aware of that, but my GPU has broke and kind of need a new card but I will restate my question, lets ignore price differences on these cards. Which one ? 1060GB Gaming X+ or the X and can we throw the Z into the pot as well
