PC crashing while playing game

So in August I built a new PC and at first it would crash whenever I would play battlefield 4 after a few minutes and after a while it stopped doing it. A few weeks ago I got on to play battlefield 4 and it started crashing again. I hadnt changed any settings at all. I un-overclocked my cpu and put it back at its default speeds to see if it would help and nothing. So i reinstalled windows and the problem has continued. I'll play for 10-15 minutes and all of the sudden my screen will be filled with green dots and the pc will either go to BSOD, BF4 will crash and say there was a driver error, or the screen will go completely black and not do anything. I've updated my drivers and I'm pretty sure the card isnt over heating it only reaches about 47 degrees while in game. My system is a i7-7700k, Asus Strix gtx 1080ti, Asus ROG strix 270e gaming motherboard, 16 gigs of G.Skill Trident Z rgb Ram at 3200 mhz, and I use an ssd as well as a hard drive. Sometimes I've noticed that my mobo doesnt detect the ssd on start up and I have to restart. I'm not sure if this is related.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
1. Is OS a clean install?
2. Did you delete your old gpu driver before install new one, if applicable?
3. Are you OCing?
4. Is BIOS up-to-date?

It is not a clean install. I am not sure if I deleted it. I am not ocing. I have not updated my bios as I have heard bad things happen but I'm not sure how to see if it is updated

Now the screen just goes black while playing bf4 after a while the computer is still on (fans are spinning, keyboard, motherboard, water cooler, gpu, ram are all lit up still) but it’s just black i can’t do anything

Updated gpu driver, I under clocked my graphics card. I was monitoring the power usage using after burner and the graphics card’s power usage dipped to 5 percent and that’s when the game stopped working

I’ve reinstalled cleanly windows to see if that will help. I don’t have access to another modular psu so I think if this doesn’t work I’ll return it as I just got it 2 months ago

thanks a lot for your help. I managed to fix it. I switched around the slots my RAM was in but I believe the windows gaming service was the cause of the issue because I havent had any issues since disabling it.
